Remote Recovery

Not all the time the experts have to access the drive physically in order to recover the data, many of the times the recovery can be done by accessing it remotely.

The recovey can be done over the internet by an expert, he can access and recover the damged drive's softwares with the computer on his own location.
But this process is not applicable if there is a hardware damage, this only applies for the softwares.

Data Clearing

It is a software based process of writing data that destroys all electronic data sits on the drive or other media, unlike physically destroying, which render the storage media unusable, data erasure removes all information while leaving the disk operable, preserving assets.

There are many programs that erasure complete security by destroying data on all areas of a hd. Overwriting programs that cannot access the entire hard drive and remapped sectors perform an incomplete erasure, data erasure eliminates the risk. Software also complies with requirements to erase defected logs and list bad sectors.

Hard Disk Failures

Logical Failure: Can occur from a temporary power surge or loss, computer viruses, system crashes, boot records, deleted partitions, deleted files etc. It does not require the hard drive to be opened. The data is recovered using Logical Recovery process.

Software Failure: The typical symptom of this type of failure is when your drive to appears to be corrupt, as an incorrect drive size, or displays an incorrect drive. The failure requires special equipment to rewrite the drive's firmware and to recalibrate and reprogram the drive. A Surrogate hard drive may be required for the repair, if an exact match of the software can't be found.

Physical Failure:

Its mechanical in nature, caused by electronic failure or damage from heavy shock. With this type of  failure can be repaired without any problem under SMD rework.
